On the fence about exhibiting? Not sure it’s right for you or your business? Then you need to read this! (Or check out my live video about it here)
The problem with trade shows is that they are often perceived as time-consuming, costly & stressful and that’s completely true … if they aren’t done correctly. It’s all about the planning (a more in depth blog on this later!) which is tricky if you lack the knowledge and experience of how trade shows work.
Why are trade shows so important to business?
Online platforms are a great way to reach a wider audience and sell products and services for less cost but the one thing they can’t provide is a real connection with your clients. The customer needs to understand your product or service to get the most out of it, trade shows aren’t just about making sales and getting leads … there is so much more to it! It doesn’t matter if you’re not a ‘sales person’ you can still connect with your target audience, those who resonate with your brand, message and product will come over to your stand and those who don’t will walk passed and that’s okay!
What do I get out of it?
Get better feedback – Understanding your client and having a genuine conversation with them can uncover new ways of working together and providing them with a much needed service, this type of feedback is unlikely to come from someone commenting on your Facebook page or taking part in a survey etc.
Tell your story – people love stories, they want to know more about who you are and why you do what you do … people buy from people!
Create lasting relationships – Making the sales is great in the short time but retaining your customers and creating advocates for your brand have longevity and are the foundations on which you build a thriving business. How do you achieve all this? By getting in front of them … remember the key word CONNECT!
It’s also super hard to sell quality online, anyone can get a great product photographer to make their items look amazing on their website but if it falls apart in your hands, what’s the point? Similarly when someone experiences the quality of your work in real life they are far less likely to quibble about price because they can see AND feel the value!
It’s all about know, like, trust – It’s so important to your business and trade shows are a great way to nurture this! So what are you waiting for?
